"Rose") McGowan was born on the 5th of September 7th, 1973. She is an
American actress. McGowan made her film debut in 1992 with Encino Man (1992),
and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995 for her
role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). Her breakthrough role came
in the horror film Scream in the year 1996. She then headlined the films
Jawbreaker (1999) and Devil in the Flesh (2000). McGowan was best known for her
role in Charmed which was a supernatural drama series on the WB from 2001 until
the year 2006. McGowan was also the main character in Quentin Tarantino and
Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) and for which she
received nominations both for the Saturn Award as Best Actress and for the
Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. The album she released her debut album on,
Planet 9, was released in 2018. The album was followed by a re-release of
Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was recognized by Time as the Silence Breakers, the
magazine’s Person of the Year in 2017. She made a statement against sexual
harassment and assault and specifically the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse
cases. Brave is her memoir. Citizen Rose was her documentary series. Both of
these were released in 2018.
