Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) who was Director of the national office at Mary Kay and Freddie
Wright as a pharmacist executive. She was born in San Diego, California. She
began her professional career at the age of 14 as a model. She has worked in
Paris, Japan and Paris. When she finished high school, she made the decision to
become an actor. She was given a role in Santa Barbara's soap-opera (1984) and
was nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards. Dane Witherspoon was her fellow cast
participant, and she got married to him in 1986. She starred in the show as the
princess bride (1987) in the title role. After leaving the cast of Santa
Barbara, she got the role of the main character in Denial (1990) together with
Jason Patric. She was in State of Grace (1990) and was introduced to Sean Penn.
They had two daughters: Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack. After taking a few
months off, Robin was back to Hollywood with one the best parts of her career:
She played Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was stunning and brilliant. Then,
she appeared in Toys (1992) in Toys (1992) alongside Robin Williams, and she
performed a hilarious role. In 1994, Wright was in the blockbuster success
Forrest Gump (1994), together with Tom Hanks. Wright was nominated for the
Golden Globe Award in recognition of her performance in the film as Jenny. She
was given a minor role in The Crossing Guard (1995) in which she starred Jack
Nicholson. After rejecting 14 roles she finally got the title role in MGM/UA's
Moll Flanders (1996). Pen Densham directed her and Stockard Channing was the
lead. Then, she appeared alongside William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s Loved (1997).
