Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. At the age of four she entered the industry with voiceovers and commercials. Private Parts was her first film. The Object of My Affection was her second film. She spent some time on Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in the park and fostered by Josie. Sarah would go on to work alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) many more times: Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the young Audrey Hepburns. The next year, she was cast in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), starring Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Gould's Secret ((2000) as well as Falcone ((2000)). Sarah studied voice in jazz, tap and hip-hop as well as film and TV work. Sarah, a New Yorker, was also an invited performer for her tap and Theater dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. She was educated at home by her mom until 2nd grade and then attended Public School. She was admitted in the 6th year to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until her graduation in 2008. When Sarah turned 18 and moved to Los Angeles, CA and, within two weeks, she had been able to land a plane named "My American Family". Once she was accepted and the name was changed into Modern Family (2009). Up to date, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy", the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) has won numerous awards, the most notable being the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
